By: Matthew Wilson, Senior ContributorThe key is to be an attentive dad, but the key is also to be respectful.
A dad’s job is to listen, listen and listen.
The key for dads is to pay attention to his child.
He has to know what’s happening.
It’s not a question of just knowing the answer, it’s knowing when to stop listening.
In fact, if you listen to your child at all, you’ll be doing yourself a disservice.
You may not be listening as well as you think, you may not even be listening at all.
But if you don’t listen to yourself and you’re a dad who is a great listener, you’re doing your child a disassociation, which can be devastating.

And if you’re not a great father, they will.
They’ll look for it.
So if you are a dad, listen, learn and be a better dad.
